Vehicles is needed by everyone, cars or motorcycles. It makes our life easier since it cuts time to arrive at your destination rather than when we walk.

Since it’s important, we need to take care of our vehicle, especially car, so we can use it efficiently.

One of the important that we need to pay attention is the fuel type. Why? It will makes the lifetime longer than if we ignored the fuel type.

Is fuel type really that necessary?

Of course it is! Every vehicles has their own machine based on types and size. The machine should be fed up to the right fuel type to have maximum performance.

Inside vehicle machine, the fuel will get compressed. This ratio that affects machine performance.

If the ratio is not as it should be, then the machine performance will decrease and will make the vehicles broke faster than it should’ve been.

Other than machine performance, the right fuel type will make the gas emission lower. How is that happening?

The fuel that go inside machine will then compressed and burned. The result of burning the fuel is gas that consist of dangerous contents.

The burning process will be efficient if we use the right types of fuel, means it will lower the gas emission too.

Since the burning process happened at machine, it then also related to machine performance.

Then how am I supposed to know the right fuel type for my vehicle?

For the compression ratio info, you can ask the dealer about it or you can seek it through internet. or you can find it at the vehicle’s manual book.

Normally, the compression ratio is written in the manual book. Then you can know the right fuel type! Below is the list for you to know the fuel type based on compression ratio info you get.

Then you can know the right fuel type! Below is the list for you to know the fuel type based on compression ratio info you get.

Compression RatioFuel Type
9 : 1RON 80 - 85
9 : 1 - 10:1RON 90 - 92
10 : 1 - 11:1RON 92 - 95
11 : 1 - 13:1RON 98
Above 13:1RON 100

Table above is the fuel type based on RON (Research Octane Number) and it is Gasoline Engine Only. The higher the RON, the better the fuel type.

For Diesel Engine, the fuel type is Cetane Number. The higher the Cetane Number, the better the fuel type.

Measuring fuel usage

After we know the right fuel type, we also need to know how to use it efficiently. The right fuel type will make the machine’s performance better, but it also depends on how we use it.

To use it efficiently, we need to know how to measure the fuel usage. How to do it? I have already written about it in my previous content, you can check it out How to calculate fuel consumption accurately.

Conclusion

Now you understand the importance of using the right fuel type for your vehicle, right? so you can use your vehicle efficiently and make it last longer.

The choice of fuel type really affects the vehicle’s lifetime because it related to the machine performance which the output is the gas emission.

The better the machine performance, the lower the gas emission. It all depend on how you choose the fuel type of your vehicle!

I hope this content can give you insight into the importance of using the right fuel type for your vehicle. See you another time!
